What's different about a cooperative?

Meade County RECC is run by an elected, seven-member Board of Directors. They are members, not employees, of the Cooperative; and they are your voice in establishing policies and procedures of the Cooperative.

Meade County RECC reports to you:

Each year, Meade County RECC sends all members a financial report and notice of the Cooperative's Annual Meeting. This information comes to you as an insert in the Kentucky Living Magazine, usually in June. The Annual Meeting is your opporturnity to elect Directors and tend to the business of Meade County RECC. You are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Communication with Members:

Meade County RECC member-consumers receive Kentucky Living Magazine each month. This publication serves as the official voice of Kentucky's electric Cooperative program and contains articles on energy conservation, legislative matters, and general interest. The center section of your magazine includes your cooperative's newsletter, The Hi-Line News. It includes news about Meade County RECC and any activities, policies, procedures, rates, new products or electrical safety programs affecting member-consumers. The cost of the subscription to Kentucky Living Magazine is to be paid as part of the cost of the electric service.

Who represents you?

The business of Meade County RECC is directed by a seven-member Board of Directors elected by memebers of the Cooperative to serve three-year terms. Each Director represents one of the seven districts composing Meade County RECC. (See Meade County RECC Bylaws, Article IV).
